Definitionskos:definition | A distinct elevation generally of irregular shape, less than 1000 m above the surrounding relief as measured from the deepest isobath that surrounds most of the feature (IHO, 2019). HILLS have more irregular profiles than KNOLLS and their length generally exceeds their height (contrast with PEAKS). They are also smaller than SEAMOUNT, and larger than individual HUMMOCKS. |
