Definitionskos:definition | The water level that results from the combination of the storm surge and the normal (astronomical) tide. If the storm surge arrives at the same time as the high tide, the potential risk of inundation, flooding and erosion is greater than at a lower tide. An additional threat at this time could come from the presence of very high waves (wave run-up). |
