| Definitionskos:definition | Buildings that contain one or more dwellings, intended for the provision of long-term accommodation. This includes detached houses, semi-detached houses, townhouses and apartments. Ancillary outbuildings not containing dwellings built adjacent to existing residential buildings, such as garden sheds, gazebos and free standing garages, are treated as residential buildings. Other types of accommodation such as hotels, holiday rentals, hospitals and aged care facilities (excluding retirement villages) are classified as non-residential. |
